Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
CA8, or Carbonic Anhydrase VIII, is an enzyme that plays a critical role in regulating the acid-base balance in various tissues, particularly in the brain. It belongs to the carbonic anhydrase family, which facilitates the reversible conversion of carbon dioxide and water to bicarbonate and protons, a process essential for maintaining pH homeostasis and enabling proper cellular function. Research into CA8 has gained traction due to its involvement in various physiological and pathological processes, including neuron signaling, tumor development, and metabolic disorders. Studies have suggested that altered expression or dysfunction of CA8 can be linked to neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's and epilepsy, as well as tumors, where it may contribute to the acidic microenvironment favorable for cancer progression. Given its significance, CA8 has become a target for therapeutic interventions, with ongoing research focusing on its structure, function, and potential as a biomarker for diagnosis or treatment strategies. The recombinant expression of CA8 in model systems allows for detailed studies of its enzymatic properties and interactions with other cellular components, aiming to establish a clearer understanding of its role in health and disease. This growing body of research holds promise for developing novel therapeutic avenues to combat diseases associated with aberrant CA8 activity.
