  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Thrombospondin-4 (THBS4) is a member of the thrombospondin family of extracellular matrix glycoproteins, which are involved in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and angiogenesis. THBS4 is primarily expressed in the central nervous system and has been implicated in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and response to injury. Its reorganization and function in the extracellular matrix suggest a critical role in modulating the microenvironment of neural tissues. Recent studies have indicated that altered THBS4 expression may contribute to neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and multiple sclerosis, where extracellular matrix remodeling plays a pivotal role in disease progression. The potential of THBS4 as a therapeutic target has spurred interest in the development and characterization of recombinant THBS4 proteins, which can be used to elucidate its biological roles and mechanisms in both normal and pathological states. By generating recombinant THBS4, researchers aim to investigate its effects on neuronal cells, explore its interaction with other matrix components, and assess its influence on cellular behaviors like proliferation and differentiation. Furthermore, understanding THBS4’s signaling pathways may provide insights into new therapeutic avenues for neurodegenerative diseases, making it a significant subject of ongoing biomedical research.
