  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BMP-3 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 3) is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, primarily known for its role in bone and cartilage development. Research has highlighted BMP-3's unique function as an antagonist to other BMPs, particularly in regulating skeletal growth and homeostasis. Unlike other BMPs that promote osteogenesis, BMP-3 inhibits bone formation, offering insights into the intricate balance of signaling pathways involved in bone metabolism. The recombinant expression of BMP-3 protein in various systems has facilitated detailed studies on its functional properties, biological activities, and potential therapeutic applications. Recent advancements in biotechnology, such as genetic engineering and recombinant DNA technologies, have enabled scientists to produce BMP-3 in sufficient quantities for experimental use. This has paved the way for in-depth investigations into its mechanisms of action, as well as its implications in conditions like osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. Furthermore, the study of BMP-3 has garnered interest in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, where understanding its antagonistic nature towards osteogenic differentiation could lead to novel strategies for managing bone-related disorders. As research continues to unravel the complexities of BMP-3 signaling pathways, the potential for developing targeted therapies utilizing BMP-3 or its pathways becomes increasingly promising. Hence, BMP-3 recombinant protein research not only contributes to our understanding of skeletal biology but also holds significant therapeutic potential for regenerative medicine applications.
