简介
Cadherin-6 Protein, Human (594a.a, HEK293, His), a recombinant human Cadherin-6 produced in HEK293 cells, has a His tag at the N-terminus. Cadherin-6 (CDH6) is a type 2 cadherin, which drives epithelial cells toward a mesenchymal condition (EMT) during embryonic development and it is aberrantly re-activated in cancer[1].

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Cadherin-6 (KCAD) is a member of the cadherin superfamily, known for its role in cell-cell adhesion and its importance in maintaining tissue architecture during development and in adult tissues. It is primarily expressed in the central nervous system and has been implicated in neural development and synaptic function. Research into Cadherin-6 has revealed its critical involvement in processes such as neuronal differentiation, migration, and synaptogenesis, making it a significant focus in studies related to neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, its expression profiles suggest potential roles in tumor biology, particularly within the context of cancer metastasis, as alterations in cadherin expression can affect cellular adhesion, invasion, and proliferation. Understanding the structure and function of Cadherin-6 is essential for elucidating its mechanisms of action and therapeutic potential. The production of recombinant Cadherin-6 proteins allows researchers to study its properties in a controlled environment, facilitating investigations into its binding affinities, interactions with other proteins, and functional roles in cellular processes. This research could lead to novel insights into its physiological functions and pave the way for targeted therapeutic strategies in related disorders.
