Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    ZBP1

  • 简介

ZBP1 is an important innate sensor that defends against viruses by recognizing Z-RNA structures and inducing PANoptosis. It binds Z-RNA through TNF-α family members and stimulates RIPK3 and MLKL to activate necroptosis. ZBP1 Protein, Human (His, Myc) is the recombinant human-derived ZBP1 protein, expressed by E. coli, with N-10*His and C-Myc labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ZBP1 (Z-DNA binding protein 1) is a crucial protein involved in various cellular processes, particularly in the response to viral infections and stress conditions. Initially identified for its ability to bind Z-DNA, ZBP1 has been shown to play a significant role in the innate immune response by recognizing and responding to cytosolic viral DNA, thereby activating signaling pathways that lead to the production of type I interferons and other cytokines. The recognition of Z-DNA and other nucleic acid structures by ZBP1 underscores its function as a sensor for viral constituents, which is integral to the body's defense mechanisms. Recent studies have highlighted its involvement in apoptosis and autophagy, further emphasizing its significance beyond immune responses. Research into recombinant ZBP1 has gained momentum due to its potential therapeutic applications, particularly in enhancing antiviral responses and understanding auto-inflammatory disorders. By producing recombinant ZBP1, researchers aim to delve deeper into its biochemical properties, functional interactions, and potential as a target for drug development. Such studies are essential for elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying ZBP1-mediated pathways, paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies that harness the body's innate defenses against infections and other diseases. As our understanding of ZBP1 evolves, it may offer new insights into disease mechanisms and therapeutic interventions in infectious and inflammatory conditions.
