Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
NRCAM (Neuronally Expressed Cell Adhesion Molecule) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, primarily expressed in the nervous system. Its primary functions involve promoting cell adhesion, facilitating neuronal connectivity, and influencing synaptic plasticity, all of which are crucial for normal brain development and function. Research into NRCAM has gained prominence due to its potential association with neurodevelopmental disorders and cognitive impairments. Studies suggest that alterations in NRCAM expression or function may contribute to conditions like autism spectrum disorders and schizophrenia, highlighting its significance in neurobiology. The recombinant expression of NRCAM provides an essential tool for elucidating its molecular mechanisms and interactions in the nervous system. By producing NRCAM as a recombinant protein, researchers can explore its role in neuronal cell adhesion, signaling pathways, and its interactions with other proteins. This approach also facilitates the development of potential therapeutic strategies aimed at mitigating the effects of NRCAM-related pathologies. Overall, understanding the functional dynamics of NRCAM through recombinant protein studies can shed light on fundamental processes in synaptic formation and maintenance while offering insights into novel interventions for neurodevelopmental diseases.
