简介
Neurofilament light chain polypeptide (NEFL) is a part of neurofilaments that, in cooperation with NEFM and NEFH, form the structural basis of neurons. It maintains neuronal caliber and assembles filamentous networks with PRPH and INA.Neurofilament light polypeptide/NEFL, Mouse (His) is the recombinant mouse-derived Neurofilament light polypeptide/NEFL, expressed by E.coli , with N-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Neurofilament light polypeptide (NEF) is a crucial component of the cytoskeleton in neurons and plays a significant role in maintaining neuronal structure and function. Alterations in NEF expression are linked to various neurodegenerative diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Alzheimer's disease, making it a vital target for research. NEF exists in a phosphorylated form, which may influence its interactions with other cytoskeletal elements, thus affecting neuronal stability and transport mechanisms. The study of recombinant NEF protein has gained traction as a means to explore its physiological roles and pathological implications in neural health. By utilizing recombinant DNA technology, researchers can produce large amounts of NEF for detailed biochemical and biophysical analyses, enabling investigations into its role in neurodegeneration, cell signaling pathways, and potential biomarkers for disease progression. Moreover, recombinant NEF can be employed in therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating its function, providing insights into novel approaches for treating neurological disorders. The elucidation of NEF's structure-function relationship and its interaction with other neurofilaments may pave the way for innovative interventions in neurodegenerative diseases, emphasizing the importance of this protein in neuroscience research.
