简介
RBP4 protein acts as a retinol-binding protein, essential for transporting retinol in blood plasma. It facilitates the delivery of retinol from the liver to peripheral tissues and likely transfers bound all-trans retinol to STRA6 for cell membrane transport. Interactions with TTR prevent kidney glomeruli filtration loss. Direct interaction with STRA6 underscores RBP4's role in intricate retinol transport and distribution processes in the body. RBP4 Protein, Human (HEK293, C-His) is the recombinant human-derived RBP4 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) is a 21-kDa protein primarily synthesized in the liver and adipose tissue, playing a crucial role in the transport of retinol (vitamin A) from the liver to peripheral tissues. Elevated levels of RBP4 have been implicated in various metabolic disorders, including insulin resistance, obesity, and type 2 diabetes, making it a compelling target for researching potential therapeutic interventions. Understanding the structure and function of RBP4 is essential, as it may reveal insights into the mechanisms of retinol metabolism and its influence on metabolic pathways. Recombinant RBP4 protein has become a valuable tool for investigating its biological functions and interactions at the molecular level. Researchers utilize techniques such as genetic engineering and affinity chromatography to produce and purify RBP4, enabling detailed studies of its physiological role and potential as a biomarker for metabolic disease. This growing body of research aims to elucidate the complex relationships between RBP4, retinol transport, and metabolic health, with the ultimate goal of developing novel strategies for disease prevention and treatment. As RBP4 continues to garner attention in the scientific community, its significance in metabolic regulation and potential as a therapeutic target underscores the need for continued exploration of this intriguing protein.
