  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Interleukin-31 (IL-31) is a cytokine primarily produced by activated T-helper cells, particularly Th2 cells, and is known to play a critical role in allergic responses and inflammation. Research has identified IL-31 as a significant mediator in various dermatological conditions, most notably atopic dermatitis, where it is associated with pruritus (itching) and skin inflammation. Elevated levels of IL-31 have been observed in patients suffering from these conditions, indicating its potential as a therapeutic target. The development of recombinant IL-31 proteins has gained attention in the scientific community, as understanding the molecular mechanisms and pathways associated with IL-31 can lead to novel treatment strategies for inflammatory diseases. Moreover, exploring the structure-function relationship of IL-31 through recombinant protein studies can elucidate its interaction with receptors and downstream signaling pathways. By investigating the effects of IL-31 in preclinical models and assessing the therapeutic potential of IL-31 blockade or modulation, researchers aim to provide new insights into the pathophysiology of allergic inflammation and develop targeted therapies to alleviate symptoms associated with IL-31-driven conditions. Overall, the exploration of IL-31 recombinant proteins is pivotal in advancing our understanding of cytokine-mediated inflammation and could pave the way for innovative approaches in the management of itchy skin disorders and other related ailments.
