  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

SKP1 (S-phase Kinase-associated Protein 1) and SKP2 (S-phase Kinase-associated Protein 2) are critical components of the SCF (SKP1-Cullin-F-box) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, which plays a pivotal role in regulating the cell cycle and various cellular processes, including protein degradation, signal transduction, and transcriptional regulation. The SKP1-SKP2 interaction is essential for the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of specific target proteins, such as cyclins and CDK inhibitors, thereby controlling the progression of the cell cycle from G1 to S phase. Dysregulation of SKP2 has been implicated in various cancers, as its overexpression can lead to unchecked cell proliferation and tumorigenesis by promoting the degradation of cell cycle inhibitors. Consequently, understanding the structure and function of SKP1 and SKP2, as well as the mechanism of their interactions, has profound implications for cancer research and therapeutic development. The recombinant proteins SKP1 and SKP2 serve as valuable tools in studying their biochemical properties, interactions, and roles within the SCF complex, potentially leading to the identification of novel drug targets and strategies for cancer treatment. By investigating the molecular dynamics and regulatory mechanisms involving SKP1 and SKP2, researchers aim to elucidate their functions in cellular homeostasis and disease, ultimately contributing to the development of targeted therapies for cancer and other cell cycle-related disorders.
