  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MAVS (Mitochondrial Antiviral Signaling protein) is a critical adapter protein involved in the innate immune response, particularly in the detection of viral infections. It plays a pivotal role in the signaling pathways triggered by various viral RNA sensors, such as RIG-I and MDA5, leading to the activation of transcription factors like IRF3 and NF-kB, which promote the expression of type I interferons and pro-inflammatory cytokines. Due to its essential function in antiviral immunity, MAVS is a significant focus of research, especially in the context of viral pathogenesis and the development of therapeutic strategies. Understanding the structure and function of MAVS, including its interactions with other proteins and its role in mitochondrial dynamics, can provide insights into how viruses evade host defenses. Recent studies have explored MAVS as a potential target for enhancing antiviral responses or modulating immune responses in various diseases. Recombinant MAVS protein has been utilized in research to dissect its functional mechanisms and to investigate its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target. The elucidation of MAVS-related pathways could not only improve our understanding of viral infections but also pave the way for innovative approaches in vaccination and immunotherapy. As the field of virology and immunology progresses, ongoing research into MAVS and its signaling networks remains a promising area of inquiry, aiming to harness its mechanisms for better clinical outcomes against viral diseases.
