  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

HER4 (Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 4) is a member of the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases, which play crucial roles in cell signaling, proliferation, and survival. Research on HER4 has gained significance due to its involvement in various biological processes and its potential implications in cancer biology, particularly in breast and other epithelial cancers. Unlike other members of the HER family, HER4 can undergo alternative splicing, leading to different isoforms with distinct functions; some promote cell growth while others can inhibit it. Additionally, HER4 interacts with numerous downstream signaling pathways, including the PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways, further complicating its role in oncogenesis. Given its dual role in cancer progression and suppression, understanding HER4's function at the molecular level is critical for developing targeted therapies. Moreover, the characterization of HER4 as a potential biomarker for therapeutic response highlights the importance of recombinant HER4 proteins in both academic and clinical research. This protein can be utilized for drug discovery, elucidating signaling pathways, and developing HER4-targeted interventions, making it a pivotal focus for ongoing cancer research efforts.
