简介
Prostasin/PRSS8, with trypsin-like cleavage specificity, crucially activates the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) by cleaving its gamma subunits (SCNN1G). This protein forms a heterodimeric complex, consisting of light and heavy chains connected by a disulfide bond. Prostasin/PRSS8 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Prostasin/PRSS8 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Prostasin, also known as PRSS8, is a serine protease that plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including epithelial cell regulation and tissue homeostasis. It is predominantly expressed in the prostate and other epithelial tissues, where it is believed to be involved in fluid regulation, signaling pathways, and cellular differentiation. Recent studies have suggested that Prostasin may have implications in cancer biology, particularly in prostate cancer, where its expression levels can correlate with tumor progression and patient prognosis. The interest in recombinant Prostasin/PRSS8 protein has surged in the scientific community due to its potential utility in therapeutic applications and as a biomarker for disease. Researchers are exploring the structural and functional characteristics of Prostasin in order to understand its mechanisms of action at the molecular level. The production of recombinant Prostasin allows for detailed studies on its enzymatic activity, interaction with substrates, and involvement in pathological conditions. Furthermore, understanding the regulatory pathways through which Prostasin operates could lead to novel therapeutic strategies targeting epithelial malignancies. Given the challenges associated with its purification and activity assays, ongoing research aims to optimize the recombinant expression systems and develop reliable assays to evaluate its functional roles. Overall, Prostasin/PRSS8 represents an intriguing target for further investigation, with the potential to contribute significantly to the fields of cancer research and regenerative medicine.
