Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    FITC-Labeled EGFR

  • 简介

The EGFR protein is a receptor tyrosine kinase that can bind to a variety of ligands, such as EGF, TGFA, AREG, epigen, BTC, epiregulin, and HBEGF, to initiate signaling cascades that mediate cellular responses. This involves receptor dimerization, autophosphorylation and recruitment of adapter proteins such as GRB2, activating downstream pathways such as RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3-kinase-AKT, PLCgamma-PKC and STAT. EGFR Protein, Human (FITC, HEK293, His-Avi) is the recombinant human-derived EGFR protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-Avi, C-His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The study of FITC-labeled EGFR recombinant proteins is situated within the broader context of cancer research, particularly focusing on the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), a key player in cell signaling and proliferation. EGFR is frequently overexpressed or mutated in several types of tumors, including lung, breast, and colon cancers, making it a critical target for therapeutic intervention. Labeling EGFR with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) facilitates the visualization and tracking of this receptor in various biological contexts, allowing researchers to study its distribution, internalization, and signaling pathways in real-time. This is particularly valuable for understanding the mechanistic basis of EGFR-related oncogenesis, as it provides insights into receptor dynamics and the effects of novel inhibitors. Furthermore, FITC-labeled EGFR can be employed in receptor-binding assays and cell imaging techniques, enhancing the potential for developing targeted therapies and diagnostic tools. The integration of advanced imaging techniques with the use of labeled proteins offers innovative approaches to monitor therapeutic efficacy and understand the tumor microenvironment, thereby advancing precision medicine in oncology. Overall, the investigation of FITC-labeled EGFR recombinant proteins contributes to the foundational knowledge required to devise more effective strategies for diagnosing and treating EGFR-driven malignancies.
