Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    RGMB

  • 简介

The RGMB protein is a member of the repulsion guidance molecule (RGM) family and plays a critical role in the developing nervous system by enhancing bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling. As a BMP coreceptor, RGMB promotes neuronal adhesion and may inhibit neurite outgrowth. RGMB Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived RGMB protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

  • Application

  • Biological Activity

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Human BMP-4 at 1 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Biotinylated Human RGM-B. The ED50 for this effect is 797.3 ng/mL. • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

RGMB (repulsive guidance molecule B) is a member of the RGMs family, which plays a critical role in neuronal development and axon guidance. Originally identified in the central nervous system, RGMB is known to interact with the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathway, influencing various biological processes such as cell differentiation, migration, and survival. Research has highlighted its potential implications in several neurological disorders and cancers, making it a significant target for therapeutic interventions. The study of recombinant RGMB proteins allows researchers to explore their structural properties, interactions, and functional roles in cellular contexts. By producing RGMB in a recombinant form, scientists can conduct detailed investigations into its mechanisms of action, assess its efficacy as a therapeutic agent, and evaluate its potential in regenerative medicine. The ongoing research into RGMB is crucial for understanding its comprehensive role in health and disease, offering promising avenues for developing novel treatments that leverage its biological functions.
