  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Neuregulin-2 (NRG2), a member of the neuregulin family, plays a crucial role in the development and functioning of the nervous system and various other tissues. It is known for its involvement in neuronal signaling, as well as its role in the regulation of synaptic plasticity and neurotransmitter release. NRG2 exerts its effects through interactions with erbB receptors, particularly erbB4, influencing processes such as myelination and synaptic modulation. Research has highlighted the potential implications of NRG2 in neurodevelopmental disorders, including schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders, where altered neuregulin signaling may contribute to disease pathology. The recombinant expression of NRG2 has become essential for elucidating its biological functions and creating therapeutic avenues. Additionally, NRG2's role in cardiovascular and cancer biology underscores its versatility beyond neural contexts. As the development of recombinant protein technologies has advanced, generating and characterizing NRG2 as a recombinant protein offers opportunities for both basic research and the exploration of therapeutic interventions targeting neuregulin signaling pathways. Understanding NRG2's structure-function relationship through recombinant studies can pave the way for drug development and therapeutic applications in conditions associated with NRG2 dysregulation.
