MSK1

简介
MSK1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that centralizes multiple cellular processes by phosphorylating key transcription factors. In response to stimuli such as UV-C irradiation, EGF, and anisomycin, MSK1 activates CREB1 and ATF1, affecting gene expression through histone phosphorylation. MSK1 Protein, Human (sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived MSK1 protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with N-GST labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MSK1 (Mitogen and Stress-activated Protein Kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly those activated by growth factors and stress stimuli. It is part of the larger family of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) and is primarily involved in mediating cellular responses to mitogens, such as cytokines and stress signals. Research on MSK1 has garnered interest due to its significant function in regulating various cellular activities, including gene expression, cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. MSK1 phosphorylates key transcription factors, including CREB (cAMP response element-binding protein), thereby influencing the transcription of genes involved in pivotal biological processes. Dysregulation of MSK1 has been linked to various pathological conditions, including cancer, where its overexpression can contribute to tumorigenesis and metastasis. Additionally, MSK1's role in neurodegenerative diseases and inflammatory responses emphasizes its potential as a therapeutic target. Thus, the study of recombinant MSK1 protein not only enhances our understanding of its biochemical properties and functional mechanisms but also paves the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies that could exploit its signaling pathways for clinical benefit. Advances in recombinant DNA technology have facilitated the production of MSK1, allowing researchers to investigate its structure-function relationships, interactions with other signaling molecules, and effects on cellular processes in both normal and disease states.
