Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    MARK1

  • 简介

MARK1 is an important serine/threonine protein kinase that critically regulates cell polarity and microtubule dynamics. It phosphorylates microtubule-associated proteins (DCX, MAP2, MAP4, MAPT/TAU), causing their dissociation and disassembly. MARK1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived MARK1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

Site-directed mutagenesis Custom tag design Custom buffer formulation Custom full-length protein production

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The research on MARK1 (Microtubule Affinity Regulating Kinase 1) recombinant protein has gained significant attention due to its critical role in cellular processes, particularly in the regulation of microtubule dynamics, which are essential for cell division, motility, and maintenance of cell shape. MARK1 is a serine/threonine kinase that modulates the activity of tau and other MAPs (microtubule-associated proteins), thereby influencing neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's by affecting tau phosphorylation and aggregation. Additionally, MARK1 has been implicated in cancer biology, where its dysregulation can contribute to tumorigenesis and metastasis. As a result, the production of MARK1 recombinant protein in various systems has facilitated studies on its function, mechanisms of action, and potential as a therapeutic target. Through techniques like expression in yeast or mammalian cells, researchers can explore the biochemical properties of MARK1, including its phosphorylation activity and interaction with microtubules. This understanding is vital for developing targeted therapies aimed at diseases linked to MARK1 dysregulation, thereby offering promising avenues for mitigating conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and certain cancers. The growing interest in MARK1 not only sheds light on fundamental cellular mechanisms but also underscores the potential clinical relevance of this protein in developing innovative treatment strategies.
