简介
The PDYN protein, or prodynorphin, regulates Leu-enkephalins, mimicking opiate drug effects and impacting pain perception and stress responses. Dynorphin peptides, like Dynorphin A(1-13), uniquely regulate the kappa opioid receptor, with A(1-13) being exceptionally potent—700 times stronger than Leu-enkephalin—displaying typical opioid activity. PDYN Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived PDYN protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The study of pro-dynorphin (PDYN) recombinant protein has gained significant attention due to its critical role in the regulation of pain, addiction, and emotional behaviors through the dynorphin enkephalin system. PDYN is a precursor protein that, when cleaved, produces several neuropeptides that interact with opioid receptors, particularly the kappa-opioid receptor (KOR). Research has indicated that dysregulation of PDYN expression is linked to various neuropsychiatric disorders, including drug addiction and depression. The recombinant production of PDYN allows for the detailed investigation of its biological functions and interactions in vitro and in vivo, facilitating the discovery of potential therapeutic targets. By producing PDYN in a recombinant form, researchers can obtain larger quantities of the protein for purification and functional assays, thus enabling studies that explore its role in neural circuits and its impact on behavior. Understanding the mechanisms through which PDYN influences synaptic plasticity and stress responses could help in developing effective treatments for conditions associated with opioid misuse and mood disorders. Overall, the recombinant PDYN research not only enhances our knowledge of opioid biology but also paves the way for innovative strategies in addressing addiction and emotional dysregulation.
