简介
EIF4EBP2 is a translation initiation repressor protein that plays a critical regulatory role in synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory. In the hypophosphorylated state, EIF4EBP2 competes with EIF4G1/EIF4G3, forms a complex with EIF4E, and inhibits translation. EIF4EBP2 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived EIF4EBP2 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
EIF4EBP2, a member of the eIF4E-binding protein family, plays a crucial role in the regulation of protein synthesis and cellular functions. It acts as a translational repressor by binding to the eIF4E cap-binding protein, inhibiting the initiation of translation for certain mRNAs. This regulation is particularly important during cellular stress and in cancer biology, where the dysregulation of protein synthesis can contribute to tumorigenesis and cancer progression. Research on EIF4EBP2 has revealed its involvement in various signaling pathways, including those related to insulin, mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin), and growth factors. Its phosphorylation state is a key determinant of its activity; under nutrient-rich conditions, EIF4EBP2 is phosphorylated, releasing mRNA and promoting translation, while under stress, it remains unphosphorylated, thus inhibiting protein synthesis. This dual regulatory role places EIF4EBP2 at a critical intersection of signaling pathways that govern cell growth, survival, and response to stress. Moreover, understanding the functional dynamics of EIF4EBP2 has potential therapeutic implications, particularly in cancer treatment, as targeting its pathways could restore normal protein synthesis control in tumor cells. Overall, investigations into the structure, function, and regulatory mechanisms of EIF4EBP2 enhance our comprehension of its significance in cellular homeostasis and disease pathology, paving the way for innovative strategies in therapeutic interventions.
