Gene name
CDK12-CCNK Heterodimer
-
简介
The CDK12 protein is a cyclin-dependent kinase that critically phosphorylates the C-terminal domain of POLR2A, thereby regulating transcription elongation. It selectively targets "Ser-5" phosphorylated at "Ser-7" in the CTD repeat and can also target "Ser-2". CDK12-CCNK Heterodimer Protein, Human (sf9) is a recombinant protein dimer complex containing human-derived CDK12-CCNK Heterodimer protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with tag free.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The CDK12-CCNK heterodimer is a critical protein complex involved in the regulation of transcription and RNA processing. Cyclin-dependent kinase 12 (CDK12) is known for its role in phosphorylating the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II, thereby influencing the expression of genes involved in DNA damage response and other crucial cellular processes. CCNK, or cyclin K, serves as a regulatory partner for CDK12, enhancing its kinase activity and stability. The study of this heterodimer has gained prominence due to its implications in cancer biology; aberrations in CDK12 function have been linked to various malignancies, particularly those with distinct genomic instability. Furthermore, the CDK12-CCNK complex has emerged as a potential therapeutic target, as modulating its activity could restore normal transcriptional regulation in cancer cells. By generating recombinant proteins of CDK12 and CCNK, researchers aim to elucidate the structural and functional characteristics of this complex, which can reveal novel insights into its mechanistic roles in oncogenesis and potential strategies for therapeutic intervention. Understanding the dynamics of the CDK12-CCNK heterodimer is crucial for developing targeted therapies that exploit its unique regulatory functions in the context of cancer.
