  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ACAN, or aggrecan, is a significant extracellular matrix (ECM) protein primarily found in cartilage, playing a critical role in providing resistance to compression and maintaining tissue hydration. Research into ACAN has garnered attention due to its association with various musculoskeletal disorders, including osteoarthritis and intervertebral disc degeneration. Given the increasing incidence of these conditions in aging populations, understanding the structure and function of ACAN, as well as its role in cartilage homeostasis, is essential. Investigating the recombinant expression of ACAN has allowed scientists to explore its therapeutic potential and implications for tissue engineering. By employing biotechnological methods to produce functional ACAN molecules, researchers aim to elucidate the protein's biochemical properties and interactions within the ECM. This research not only enhances our knowledge of cartilage biology but also paves the way for novel regenerative therapies that could improve the quality of life for individuals suffering from cartilage-related diseases. The ongoing exploration of ACAN's role and the potential of its recombinant forms signifies a crucial step toward developing effective treatments for joint disorders and advancing the field of regenerative medicine.
