简介
CLDN18 play a crucial role in alveolar fluid homeostasis by modulating tight junction composition, affecting ion transport and solute permeability. They contribute to alveolarization and the paracellular epithelial barrier, affecting epithelial progenitor cell proliferation and organ size by controlling YAP1 subcellular localization. Claudin-18/CLDN18.1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived Claudin-18/CLDN18.1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-8*His labeled tag. The complete sequence length is 171 amino acids. In addition to the target fragment P56856-1 (D28-L76), there are other fusion sequences that play a role in stabilizing the extracellular region.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Claudin-18 (CLDN18) is a tight junction protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of epithelial barriers in various tissues, particularly in the gastric epithelium. Its role in cell adhesion and barrier function makes it a significant focus in cancer research, especially regarding gastric and pancreatic cancers, where its expression is often aberrant. The discovery of a specific isoform, CLDN18.1, which is expressed in tumor tissues but not in normal adult tissues, has provided a novel target for immunotherapy. Researchers are investigating CLDN18.1 as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target due to its limited expression in healthy cells, thus minimizing off-target effects. Current studies focus on developing recombinant protein formulations for CLDN18.1 to facilitate the generation of monoclonal antibodies and other therapeutic agents. This approach aims to exploit the unique expression profile of CLDN18.1 in malignancies, paving the way for targeted therapies that could improve treatment outcomes for patients with gastrointestinal cancers. Understanding the structural and functional properties of the CLDN18.1 protein will enhance the design of therapeutics and diagnostic tools that specifically address tumors expressing this protein, thus contributing to the growing field of precision medicine.
