简介
PDK4 protein is a key kinase that regulates glucose and fatty acid metabolism by phosphorylating pyruvate dehydrogenase subunits PDHA1 and PDHA2.This inhibits pyruvate dehydrogenase activity, modulates metabolite flux and inhibits aerobic respiration.PDK4 Protein, Mouse (sf9, His-GST) is the recombinant mouse-derived PDK4 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His, N-GST labeled tag.

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PDK4 (Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Kinase 4) is a critical enzyme that plays a pivotal role in cellular metabolism, particularly in the regulation of glucose and fatty acid oxidation. As a member of the pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase family, PDK4 modulates the activity of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, which is essential for converting pyruvate to acetyl-CoA, a key metabolic intermediate that feeds into the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Dysregulation of PDK4 has been implicated in various metabolic disorders, including obesity, diabetes, and cancer, making it a significant target for therapeutic intervention. Research has shown that PDK4 expression is influenced by various factors, including insulin, glucagon, and nutrient availability, indicating its role in metabolic adaptation. Characterization of recombinant PDK4 protein allows for a detailed understanding of its structure, function, and regulation, thus providing insights into its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target. The production of recombinant PDK4 facilitates kinetic studies, inhibitor screening, and development of metabolically targeted therapies. As the prevalence of metabolic diseases continues to rise globally, understanding the intricate role of PDK4 in metabolic pathways is essential for developing innovative strategies for disease management and treatment.
