简介
The EIF2AK2 protein is an interferon-inducing kinase that initiates the innate immune response against viral infection. It phosphorylates eIF-2-α, activating the integrated stress response, inhibiting overall protein synthesis and favoring ISR-specific mRNAs such as ATF4. EIF2AK2 Protein, Human (Active, sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived EIF2AK2 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells, with N-GST labeled tag.

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
EIF2AK2, also known as PKR (protein kinase R), is a key regulator in the cellular response to viral infections and stress. It is an interferon-inducible protein kinase that plays a crucial role in the eIF2α phosphorylation pathway, which effectively halts protein synthesis in response to viral RNA detection, thereby limiting viral replication. The dysregulation of EIF2AK2 is associated with various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders, making it a potential target for therapeutic intervention. Research on recombinant EIF2AK2 has been driven by its importance in understanding innate immunity and potential antiviral strategies. Scientists have been focusing on characterizing its structure, functionality, and interactions with other cellular proteins to elucidate its complex regulatory mechanisms. Recombinant protein studies aim to produce the active form of EIF2AK2 for biochemical assays, structural analysis, and drug screening, providing insights into its role in cellular stress responses and paving the way for novel therapeutic approaches targeting EIF2AK2 in disease contexts. Thus, understanding EIF2AK2 and its recombinant protein forms is pivotal for advancing our knowledge of immune responses and developing interventions for related diseases.
