简介
MMP-12 protein has significant elastolytic activity and may contribute to tissue damage and remodeling. Its substrate preferences include preference for leucine at the P1' site and aromatic/hydrophobic residues at the P1 site, and preference for small hydrophobic residues such as alanine at the P3 site.MMP-12 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived MMP-12 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Matrix metalloproteinase-12 (MMP-12), also known as macrophage elastase, is a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family, which plays a crucial role in extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue repair. This enzyme is primarily expressed by macrophages and is implicated in various physiological and pathological processes, including inflammation, wound healing, and the development of cardiovascular diseases. Elevated MMP-12 levels have been associated with conditions such as pulmonary emphysema and atherosclerosis, making it a potential biomarker and therapeutic target. The research surrounding MMP-12 has gained momentum in recent years, with efforts focused on understanding its substrate specificity, regulation, and contributions to disease progression. Recombinant MMP-12 proteins have been developed to facilitate studies on its enzymatic activity and interactions with specific extracellular matrix components. These studies aim to elucidate the role of MMP-12 in modulating inflammatory responses and tissue remodeling, providing insights into both normal physiological functions and the mechanisms underlying various diseases. Furthermore, targeting MMP-12 through inhibitors or monoclonal antibodies holds promise for the development of novel therapeutic strategies for diseases where this enzyme is implicated. Overall, the investigation of MMP-12 not only enhances our understanding of matrix dynamics but also paves the way for innovative approaches in treating related disorders.
