Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    Artemin

  • 简介

Artemin Protein, a ligand for GFR-alpha-3-RET and GFR-alpha-1-RET receptor complexes, is vital for the survival of sensory, sympathetic, and dopaminergic neurons. It strongly attracts gut hematopoietic cells, promoting Peyer's patch-like structure formation in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue. Existing in a homodimeric form linked by disulfide bonds, Artemin binds to the RET receptor. Artemin Protein, Mouse (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant mouse-derived Artemin protein, expressed by HEK293 , with N-hFc labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Artemin, a member of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family, plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the peripheral nervous system, particularly in promoting the survival and differentiation of dopaminergic neurons. First identified for its neuroprotective properties, Artemin has garnered significant interest due to its potential therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, where dopaminergic neuron loss is a hallmark. The recombination of Artemin proteins in research settings allows for a deeper understanding of its biological functions and mechanisms, particularly in cellular signaling pathways. Furthermore, recombinant Artemin can be utilized in preclinical studies to assess its role in neuronal regeneration and repair, making it a candidate for developing novel treatment strategies for nerve injuries and neurodegenerative disorders. Recent advancements in biotechnological methods for producing high yields of functional recombinant proteins have enhanced research capabilities, facilitating the exploration of Artemin's effects on neuronal health and its potential for therapeutic interventions in disorders characterized by neuronal stress or degeneration. Through elucidating the mechanisms underpinning Artemin's actions, researchers aim to pave the way for innovative approaches to neuroprotection and regeneration in the nervous system.
