  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CD166, also known as Activated Leukocyte Cell Adhesion Molecule (ALCAM), is a cell adhesion molecule that plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including immune response, inflammation, and tissue development. Research has shown that CD166/ALCAM is involved in the adhesion of immune cells to endothelial cells, as well as in the migration and homing of lymphocytes. It is also implicated in the pathology of several diseases, including cancers and autoimmune disorders, due to its overexpression in malignant tissues and its ability to promote tumor cell metastasis. As a result, CD166/ALCAM has gained attention as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for these conditions. Recombinant CD166/ALCAM proteins have been developed for various applications, including cell adhesion assays, drug discovery, and the study of cell signaling pathways. These recombinant proteins allow researchers to better understand the precise functions of CD166/ALCAM in both normal physiology and disease states, paving the way for novel therapeutic strategies that could leverage this molecule’s properties to enhance immune responses or inhibit tumor progression. The ongoing investigation into the structure-function relationship of CD166/ALCAM and its interactions with other cellular components continues to reveal the complexity of its role, highlighting its significance in both basic and translational research.
