AGO1

简介
The AGO1 protein is critical for RNA-mediated gene silencing (RNAi) by binding to short RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs) or short interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and inhibiting the translation of complementary mRNAs.Despite lacking endonuclease activity, AGO1 does not cleave target mRNA.AGO1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived AGO1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
AGO1, or Argonaute protein 1, is a key component of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which plays a critical role in gene regulation and post-transcriptional gene silencing by mediating the effects of small RNAs, such as microRNAs (miRNAs) and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). As a crucial player in the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, AGO1 functions by binding to these small RNAs and guiding them to their target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), thereby facilitating the silencing of genes involved in various biological processes, including development, differentiation, and immune response. Research on AGO1 has gained importance due to its implications in multiple areas of health and disease, including cancer, where aberrant expression or function of AGO1 can lead to uncontrolled cell growth and proliferation. Moreover, understanding the molecular mechanisms of AGO1 may provide insights into novel therapeutic approaches for diseases characterized by dysregulated gene expression. The reconstitution of AGO1 as a recombinant protein has enabled researchers to study its structural properties, interactions with RNA and other proteins, and the regulation of its activity in vitro. This research is essential for elucidating the comprehensive role of AGO1 in RNA-based gene regulation and could potentially lead to innovative strategies for manipulating gene expression in therapeutic contexts.
