  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

POLQ, or DNA polymerase theta, has emerged as a critical player in DNA repair and genomic stability, particularly in the context of double-strand break repair through a unique mechanism known as alternative end joining (alt-EJ). Unlike classical homologous recombination and non-homologous end joining pathways, POLQ-mediated repair is less understood but has gained attention due to its implications in cancer biology and therapeutic resistance. The enzyme's role in synthesizing DNA at damaged sites emphasizes its potential as a target for cancer treatment, especially in tumors exhibiting deficiencies in other DNA repair pathways, such as BRCA mutations. Research has shown that POLQ can compensate for the loss of other repair systems, making it a pivotal factor in the survival and proliferation of cancer cells under DNA-damaging conditions. Furthermore, studies have highlighted the structural features of POLQ that facilitate its function in the repair process, leading to increasing interest in developing specific inhibitors that can sensitize tumors to DNA-damaging agents, including chemotherapeutics and radiation therapy. Overall, the study of POLQ recombinant protein not only advances our understanding of DNA repair mechanisms but also opens up new avenues for targeted cancer therapies that exploit the vulnerabilities of tumorous cells.
