IL-1R2

简介
IL-1R2 is a competitive endogenous inhibitor of IL-1 signaling. IL-1R2 serves as a decoy receptor and competes with IL-1R1 for IL-1, it can also form a complex with IL-1RAP once it binds IL-1. IL-1R2 is implicated in various IL-1-mediated inflammatory diseases[1]. IL-1R2 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is a recombinant rat IL-1R2 protein with a His tag at the C-terminus and is expressed in HEK293 cells. It consists of 355 amino acids (M1-E355).

Biological Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Rat IL-1R2 at 2 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind biotinylated Human IL-1 beta. The ED50 for this effect is 19.20 ng/mL. Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Interleukin-1 receptor type 2 (IL-1R2) is a decoy receptor that plays a critical role in modulating the inflammatory responses mediated by interleukin-1 (IL-1). Unlike its counterpart IL-1 receptor type 1 (IL-1R1), which signals through the MyD88 pathway to promote inflammation, IL-1R2 binds IL-1α and IL-1β without triggering a signaling cascade, thus acting as a negative regulator of IL-1 signaling. The dysregulation of IL-1 pathways is implicated in various inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and sepsis. Consequently, understanding the molecular mechanisms and functional outcomes of IL-1R2 activity has significant therapeutic implications. Researchers have been interested in developing recombinant IL-1R2 proteins to study their potential as anti-inflammatory agents. These recombinant proteins can serve as tools to assess the therapeutic efficacy of IL-1R2 in preclinical models, enabling investigations into their effects on cytokine signaling, immune modulation, and overall inflammation. Furthermore, recombinant IL-1R2 holds promise for clinical applications, offering a novel strategy to mitigate excessive inflammatory responses. The production and characterization of IL-1R2 as a therapeutic agent represent an exciting avenue in the field of immunology and may lead to the development of innovative treatments for a range of inflammatory conditions.
