简介
The SLC38A1 protein acts as an symporter, facilitating the pH-dependent cotransport of short-chain neutral amino acids and sodium ions across cell membranes. Crucially, it mediates astrocyte-derived glutamine transport to GABAergic interneurons, contributing to de novo GABA synthesis. SLC38A1 Protein, Human (sf9, His, MBP, FLAG) is the recombinant human-derived SLC38A1 protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with N-MBP, C-Flag, N-8*His labeled tag.

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC38A1, a member of the SLC (solute carrier) family, is a sodium-dependent neurotransmitter transporter primarily involved in the uptake of amino acids across the plasma membrane. This protein plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including neurotransmission, metabolic regulation, and cellular signaling. Aberrations in SLC38A1 function have been associated with several neurological disorders, making it an important target for research. The recombinant expression of SLC38A1 in various systems allows for the elucidation of its structure-function relationships, as well as its interaction with ligands and other transporters. By producing SLC38A1 as a recombinant protein, researchers can investigate its transport mechanisms and the effects of post-translational modifications, ultimately contributing to a better understanding of its role in health and disease. The study of SLC38A1 is particularly relevant in the context of developing novel therapeutic strategies for conditions characterized by dysregulated amino acid homeostasis. As we deepen our understanding of SLC38A1 through its recombinant form, we open avenues for potential interventions that could enhance amino acid transport, modulate neurotransmitter availability, and improve outcomes for patients with related disorders.
