  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Bone morphogenetic protein 5 (BMP-5) is a member of the BMP family, which plays a critical role in skeletal development, bone formation, and tissue regeneration. Initially identified for its ability to induce bone formation in ectopic sites, BMP-5 has garnered significant interest for its regulatory functions in various biological processes, including chondrogenesis, angiogenesis, and the maintenance of neuronal health. The exploration of BMP-5's molecular pathways has led to its potential applications in regenerative medicine and orthopedics, yet our understanding of its specific mechanisms and interactions remains incomplete. Recent studies have focused on the recombinant production of BMP-5 to investigate its therapeutic potential and to address challenges associated with its clinical application. By utilizing advanced biotechnological techniques, researchers aim to produce high-yield, biologically active BMP-5 proteins to facilitate studies on its effects in vitro and in vivo. Investigating the role of BMP-5 in cellular signaling pathways, as well as its interactions with other growth factors, is essential for developing targeted therapies for conditions such as osteoporosis, cartilage injuries, and neurodegenerative diseases. Continued research on BMP-5 recombinant proteins thus holds promise for uncovering novel strategies for enhancing tissue repair and regeneration in various clinical contexts.
