Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    SMPDL3A

  • 简介

SMPDL3A exhibits in vitro nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity, specifically toward ATP and p-nitrophenyl-TMP, less activity toward nucleoside diphosphates, and no activity toward nucleoside monophosphates. Notably, it showed in vitro activity with CDP-choline and CDP-ethanolamine, producing specific products. SMPDL3A Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived SMPDL3A protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

SMPDL3A, or sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase-like 3A, is a member of the lipid phosphate phosphatase family that has garnered significant attention in recent years due to its potential roles in cellular signaling, lipid metabolism, and disease processes. This protein is involved in the hydrolysis of sphingomyelin and other phospholipids, contributing to the regulation of lipid-mediated cellular functions. Research has suggested that SMPDL3A may play a critical role in the immune response, inflammation, and cancer, highlighting its importance in both health and disease. Recent studies have focused on the structural and functional characterization of recombinant SMPDL3A to elucidate its enzymatic mechanisms and interactions with other cellular components. By producing this recombinant protein, researchers aim to explore its biological activities in greater detail, which can aid in the development of targeted therapeutic strategies, particularly in diseases characterized by dysregulated sphingolipid metabolism. Understanding the biochemical pathways associated with SMPDL3A could lead to novel interventions in various conditions, including metabolic disorders and malignancies, thereby emphasizing the significance of this protein in contemporary biomedical research.
