  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BTLA (B and T Lymphocyte Attenuator), also known as CD272, is an immune checkpoint molecule that plays a critical role in regulating T cell activation and maintaining immune homeostasis. Research into BTLA/CD272 has gained prominence due to its potential implications in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and cancer. As an inhibitory receptor primarily expressed on T cells and B cells, BTLA interacts with its ligand, HVEM (Herpes Virus Entry Mediator), to modulate immune responses. The balance between activation and inhibition in T cell responses is crucial for effective immunity; thus, understanding BTLA's mechanisms can provide insights into how immune tolerance is maintained and how immune evasion occurs in tumors. Recombinant BTLA/CD272 proteins are essential for elucidating these functions, as they allow for detailed studies of the receptor-ligand interactions and their impact on immune signaling pathways. Additionally, therapeutic strategies targeting the BTLA-HVEM axis are being explored to enhance anti-tumor immunity or ameliorate autoimmunity, making BTLA/CD272 a significant focus for ongoing research in immunology and therapeutic development.
