Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
REC8 is a cohesin-like protein that plays a critical role in meiosis, specifically in the establishment and maintenance of sister chromatid cohesion during gametogenesis. Its significance stems from its function in promoting proper chromosome segregation, which is vital for genetic diversity and stability in reproductive cells. Unlike its sister protein RAD21, REC8 is specifically preserved in meiotic cells and is essential for the formation of a unique structure known as the meiotic chromosome axis. Research into REC8 has garnered attention due to its potential implications in understanding infertility, developmental disorders, and cancer, as errors in chromosome segregation are linked to these conditions. In recent years, investigations have focused on the molecular mechanisms governing REC8's localization, stability, and interaction with other proteins during meiosis, unveiling new layers of regulation that could be critical for improving reproductive health and developing novel therapeutic strategies. The exploration of REC8 and its protein interactions continues to be a fertile area of study, with the potential to illuminate fundamental aspects of cellular biology as well as translational applications in medicine.
