Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ADAM2, or A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase 2, is a member of the ADAM family, which plays crucial roles in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and signaling. Originally discovered in the context of male fertility, ADAM2 is primarily expressed in the male reproductive system, particularly in sperm, where it is essential for sperm-egg interaction during fertilization. Research has shown that ADAM2 is involved in the processing of specific proteins on the surface of sperm, facilitating the binding to the zona pellucida of the oocyte. Additionally, ADAM2's metalloproteinase activity allows for the cleavage of extracellular matrix components, highlighting its potential role in tissue remodeling and other reproductive functions. Given its significance in fertility, ADAM2 has gained attention as a potential biomarker for male infertility and a target for therapeutic interventions. The recombinant expression of ADAM2 in various model systems has enabled researchers to investigate its structural and functional properties in detail, providing insights into its mechanism of action and potential applications in reproductive medicine. As the understanding of ADAM2's role in reproductive biology expands, it may lead to novel approaches for diagnosing and treating infertility, underscoring its importance in both basic and applied research.
