简介
gp130/IL6ST is an important signal transduction molecule that can form high-affinity receptor complexes for cytokines such as IL6, LIF, and OSM. Upon IL6 binding, gp130/IL6ST homodimerizes and activates the JAK-MAPK and JAK-STAT3 pathways, leading to the phosphorylation of IL6ST tyrosine residues and subsequent activation of STAT3. gp130/IL6ST Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived gp130/IL6ST protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.
- Application
-
Biological Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Human gp130 at 5 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Biotinylated Human IL-6 R alpha in the presence of Human IL-6. The ED50 for this effect is 13.46 ng/mL.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
gp130 is a signal transducer that plays a crucial role in the interleukin-6 (IL-6) cytokine family signaling pathways, which are integral to various physiological processes, including immune response, hematopoiesis, and inflammation. Dysregulation of gp130 signaling has been implicated in several pathologies, including autoimmune diseases, cancers, and chronic inflammatory disorders. The study of recombinant gp130 protein enables researchers to investigate its structure-function relationships, examine the dynamics of IL-6 family cytokine signaling, and explore its potential as a therapeutic target. Additionally, gp130's ability to form high-affinity complexes with IL-6 or other cytokines leads to the activation of downstream signaling pathways such as STAT3, which further highlights its importance in cellular signal transduction. Investigations into gp130 functionality can also facilitate the development of novel biomolecular inhibitors that may effectively modulate its activity in disease contexts. Overall, advancing our understanding of gp130 through recombinant protein studies is crucial for the development of new therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating immune and inflammatory responses.
