Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
HSD17B12 (17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 12) is an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of steroid hormones and lipids, playing a critical role in the metabolism of fatty acids and cholesterol. Recent studies have highlighted its importance in various physiological processes, including spermatogenesis and energy metabolism, as well as its potential implications in metabolic disorders and reproductive health. The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of various 17-ketosteroids to their corresponding 17-hydroxysteroids, which are essential in the regulation of anabolic and catabolic pathways. Given its pivotal function, HSD17B12 has emerged as a potential therapeutic target for diseases related to steroid hormone imbalance and lipid metabolism, such as obesity and infertility. Research on recombinant HSD17B12 protein enables scientists to further elucidate its enzymatic properties, substrate specificity, and interactions with other metabolic pathways. By generating recombinant forms of HSD17B12, researchers aim to develop inhibitors or activators that could modulate its activity, providing insights into novel therapeutic avenues and expanding our understanding of steroid biosynthesis and its regulatory mechanisms in human health and disease. The exploration of HSD17B12's role in these biological contexts underscores its significance in both basic research and potential clinical applications.
