简介
IFN-lambda 1 (IL-29) is a member of the Type-III interferon family. IFN-lambda 1 signals through a heterodimeric receptor complex comprising IFNλ receptor 1 (IFNLR1) and IL-10 receptor subunit-β (IL-10RB). When IFN-lambda 1 binds with the receptor complex, Jak1 and Tyk2 will be activated, and leads to subsequent tyrosine phosphorylation of the IFN-λR1, and activation of STAT1 and STAT2[1]. IFN-lambda 1 modulates immunity in infections and autoimmune diseases[2]. IFN-lambda 1/IL-29 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is a recombinant human IFN-lambda 1 (G20-T200) with C-terminal 10*His tag, which is produced in HEK293.

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Interferon lambda 1 (IFN-λ1), also known as interleukin-29 (IL-29), is a member of the type III interferon family, which plays a crucial role in the immune response to viral infections. IFN-λ1 is particularly important in mediating antiviral activity in epithelial cells, making it a key player in the first line of defense against various pathogens, especially in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. The significance of IFN-λ1 has been underscored by its ability to induce an antiviral state through the activation of specific receptors, leading to the upregulation of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) that inhibit viral replication. In recent years, research has focused on the therapeutic potential of IFN-λ1 in treating viral infections, such as hepatitis C virus (HCV) and more recently, SARS-CoV-2. Unlike traditional interferons (type I), IFN-λ1 is believed to have a more favorable safety and tolerability profile, as it primarily signals through the IL-28R receptor complex, which is expressed predominantly on epithelial cells. This cell-type specificity may reduce systemic side effects commonly associated with type I interferon treatments. Furthermore, studies have demonstrated that recombinant IFN-λ1 can enhance the immune response, offering a promising avenue for developing antiviral therapies and vaccines. As research progresses, understanding the molecular mechanisms of IFN-λ1 and its interaction with the immune system may provide insights into novel strategies for combating viral infections and modulating immune responses.
