Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
COX1, or cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1, is a critical component of the mitochondrial respiratory complex IV, playing a vital role in cellular respiration and energy production. This enzyme facilitates the transfer of electrons from cytochrome c to molecular oxygen, culminating in the reduction of oxygen to water while concurrently pumping protons across the inner mitochondrial membrane, thus generating a proton gradient for ATP synthesis. Research into COX1 recombinant protein has gained prominence due to its implications in understanding mitochondrial dysfunctions, which are linked to various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic syndromes. The study of COX1 not only provides insights into the fundamental mechanisms of ATP generation but also aids in exploring therapeutic approaches to mitigate mitochondrial-related pathologies. Advances in recombinant DNA technology have enabled scientists to produce COX1 in heterologous systems, facilitating detailed biochemical and structural analyses. By generating and characterizing this protein, researchers can investigate the effects of mutations found in related genetic disorders, assess the impact of various inhibitors, and ultimately contribute to the development of novel treatments aimed at restoring mitochondrial function.
