  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MOCS1, or molybdenum cofactor biosynthesis protein 1, plays a critical role in the production of molybdenum cofactors, which are essential for various enzymatic reactions in higher organisms. Mutations in the MOCS1 gene can lead to Molybdenum Cofactor Deficiency (MoCD), a rare and severe metabolic disorder characterized by neurological impairment and progressive deterioration. The research on MOCS1 recombinant protein primarily aims to understand the protein's structure and function, enabling the identification of its enzymatic activity within the molybdenum cofactor biosynthesis pathway. Utilizing techniques such as recombinant DNA technology, researchers can produce and purify MOCS1 protein, facilitating in vitro studies to elucidate its interaction with other cofactors and proteins involved in the metabolic cascade. Investigating MOCS1 not only enhances our understanding of molybdenum metabolism but also opens avenues for potential therapeutic interventions in MoCD. Furthermore, studying this protein can provide insights into evolutionary biology, as the molybdenum cofactor system is conserved across various species. Understanding MOCS1's role may contribute significantly to developing diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for related metabolic disorders, highlighting its importance in both basic and applied biomedical research.
