  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Interferon-alpha 5 (IFN-alpha 5, or IFNA5) is a member of the type I interferon family, which plays a crucial role in the immune response against viral infections and has applications in cancer therapy and autoimmune diseases. The recombinant IFNA5 protein has garnered attention due to its potential therapeutic effects, particularly in the treatment of hepatitis C and certain cancers. Unlike other interferons, IFNA5 exhibits distinct antiviral and antiproliferative properties, making it a subject of interest for researchers aiming to enhance therapeutic efficacy while minimizing side effects. Studies have demonstrated that IFNA5 can activate various immune pathways, promote the maturation of dendritic cells, and enhance the cytotoxic activity of natural killer cells. Additionally, the recombinant production of IFNA5 facilitates the investigation of its structure-function relationships, providing insights into its mechanism of action. Ongoing research is focused on optimizing its use in clinical settings, determining the appropriate dosing regimens, and identifying patient populations that may benefit most from IFNA5-based therapies. With the continuing exploration of its biological functions and therapeutic potential, IFNA5 is poised to contribute significantly to the development of innovative strategies for combating viral infections and cancer.
