  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

KIF18A is a member of the kinesin superfamily of motor proteins, which are crucial for intracellular transport and mitotic spindle organization during cell division. It specifically functions as a microtubule-based motor that participates in the transport of cellular components and plays a vital role in mitotic processes, particularly in maintaining spindle stability and ensuring proper chromosome segregation. Research into KIF18A has gained significant attention due to its implications in cancer biology; aberrations in its expression levels have been linked to various oncogenic processes and poor patient prognosis in several types of cancer. As a result, characterizing KIF18A through recombinant protein technology has emerged as a promising avenue for understanding its functional mechanisms, revealing its structural properties, and exploring potential therapeutic targets. By producing KIF18A as a recombinant protein, scientists can study its biophysical characteristics, elucidate its role in cellular dynamics, and assess its interaction with microtubules and other mitotic factors under controlled experimental conditions. This research not only enhances our understanding of KIF18A's cellular functions but also paves the way for developing novel strategies aimed at targeting KIF18A in cancer treatment, ultimately contributing to the advancement of precision medicine initiatives.
