Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Defb6, or Beta-defensin 6, is a member of the beta-defensin family of antimicrobial peptides, which play a crucial role in the innate immune system. These peptides are primarily expressed in epithelial tissues and are known for their ability to combat a wide range of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Research has increasingly focused on Defb6 due to its significant antibacterial properties and its potential role in inflammatory responses. Studies have shown that Defb6 expression can be induced by various stimuli, suggesting its involvement in host defense mechanisms, particularly in the skin and respiratory tract. Additionally, the structure of Defb6 allows it to interact with various immune cells, modulating their activity and contributing to the overall immune response. With rising concerns about antibiotic resistance, Defb6 is of particular interest as a potential alternative therapeutic agent. Researchers are investigating the possibility of using recombinant Defb6 to enhance its antimicrobial efficacy and explore its application in disease treatment. Understanding the precise mechanisms underlying Defb6's action, as well as optimizing its production and delivery, could pave the way for novel immunotherapeutic strategies aimed at combating infectious diseases while minimizing reliance on conventional antibiotics. Overall, the study of Defb6 recombinant proteins is vital for advancing our knowledge of innate immunity and developing innovative solutions to enhance pathogen resistance.
