简介
STC2/Stanniocalcin-2 Protein plays a vital role in maintaining calcium and phosphate homeostasis and exhibits strong anti-hypocalcemic effects. As a homodimer with disulfide linkages, STC2 plays a crucial structural role in regulating calcium and phosphate balance. This unique property emphasizes the pivotal role of STC2 in preserving the delicate equilibrium of essential minerals in the body. STC2/Stanniocalcin-2 Protein, Human (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant human-derived STC2/Stanniocalcin-2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-hFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Stanniocalcin-2 (STC2) is a glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in calcium and phosphate homeostasis, and it is part of the stanniocalcin family, which is known to have important functions in various physiological processes. Initially discovered in teleost fish, STC2 has since been found in various other species, including humans, where it is expressed in multiple tissues. Research has indicated that STC2 is involved in several biological processes such as cell survival, apoptosis, and inflammation, suggesting its potential role in various diseases including cancer, osteoporosis, and kidney disorders. The recombinant production of STC2 protein has become a focus in biomedical research, as it allows scientists to study its structure-function relationship, investigate its physiological roles, and explore its potential as a therapeutic target. The ability to produce STC2 in a recombinant form is vital for elucidating its mechanisms of action, particularly in relation to its involvement in calcium regulation and its potential as a biomarker in diseases. Overall, the ongoing study of STC2 recombinant protein holds significant promise for advancing our understanding of its biological functions and potential therapeutic applications.
