Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    TPBG/5T4

  • 简介

TPBG/5T4 protein acts as an inhibitor of Wnt/β-catenin signaling, possibly by interacting indirectly with LRP6 and hindering Wnt3a-dependent LRP6 internalization. This means that TPBG/5T4 plays a crucial role in regulating the complex Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and exerts a regulatory influence on cellular responses related to this pathway. TPBG/5T4 Protein, Human (HEK293, mFc) is the recombinant human-derived TPBG/5T4 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-mFc labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

TPBG/5T4, also known as Trophoblast glycoprotein or 5T4 antigen, is a glycoprotein initially identified in the context of trophoblast cells of the placenta, which play crucial roles in fetal development and immune modulation during pregnancy. This protein has gained significant attention due to its overexpression in various malignancies, such as colorectal, breast, lung, and renal cancers, making it a potential tumor marker and target for immunotherapy. Research has demonstrated that TPBG/5T4 contributes to tumor progression and immune evasion, thus underscoring its relevance in cancer biology. As a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family, TPBG/5T4 is of particular interest for the development of monoclonal antibodies and vaccines aimed at eliciting an immune response against cancer cells. Studies have shown that high levels of TPBG/5T4 are correlated with advanced disease stages and poor prognosis, further supporting its utility as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and treatment monitoring. Ongoing research is focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying TPBG/5T4's role in tumorigenesis and exploring its potential as a therapeutic target, including the development of antibody-drug conjugates engineered to specifically target cancer cells expressing this antigen. Overall, the study of TPBG/5T4 has profound implications for enhancing cancer diagnosis and creating more effective targeted therapies, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes in oncology.
