  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Lgr5, also known as GPR49, is a member of the leucine-rich repeat-containing G protein-coupled receptor family and has garnered significant attention for its role in various biological processes, particularly in stem cell biology and tumorigenesis. Initially identified as a marker for intestinal stem cells, Lgr5 has been shown to play a critical role in maintaining the stem cell niche and regulating cellular proliferation and differentiation. Its interaction with the Wnt signaling pathway suggests that Lgr5 might be pivotal in both normal and malignant tissue homeostasis. Researchers have been exploring Lgr5's potential as a therapeutic target, given its overexpression in several cancers, including colorectal cancer. By studying recombinant Lgr5/GPR49 proteins, scientists aim to elucidate its functional mechanisms and interactions at the molecular level. These investigations not only provide insights into the fundamental biology of stem cells and cancer but also pave the way for developing novel strategies for targeted therapies that can inhibit cancer progression and improve patient outcomes. The production and characterization of Lgr5/GPR49 recombinant proteins facilitate the exploration of its structure-function relationship, aiding in the identification of small molecules or antibodies that could modulate its activity in therapeutic contexts. Overall, the study of Lgr5/GPR49 holds promise for advancing our understanding of stem cell dynamics and cancer biology, addressing critical oncology challenges.
