Gene name
Cadherin-9/CDH9

简介
Cadherin-9/CDH9 is a calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein that plays a key role in mediating cell adhesion through preferential homologous interactions, promoting self-association between adjacent cells. This emphasizes its importance in cell adhesion and implies a significant contribution to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. Cadherin-9/CDH9 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Cadherin-9/CDH9 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

-
Biological Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. When Recombinant Human Cadherin-9 is immobilized at 1 μg/mL can bind Biotinylated Human Cadherin-6. The ED50 for this effect is 5.36 μg/mL. Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Cadherin-9 (CDH9) is a member of the cadherin superfamily, which comprises a group of calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecules critical for maintaining proper cell-cell interactions during tissue development and homeostasis. Research has demonstrated that CDH9 plays a significant role in neural development, particularly in the formation and maturation of synapses in the nervous system. Its expression has been linked to various neurological conditions, suggesting that dysregulation of CDH9 may contribute to disorders such as autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia. The investigation of CDH9 involves the production of recombinant CDH9 proteins, which facilitate the study of its functional properties, structural characteristics, and interaction mechanisms with other proteins. These recombinant proteins can be used in various experimental settings, such as in vivo and in vitro assays, to elucidate the role of CDH9 in cellular signaling and adhesion processes. Understanding the precise functions and regulatory mechanisms of CDH9 can provide insight into its potential as a therapeutic target for treating neurological disorders and improving neuronal connectivity and synaptic function. Thus, the study of CDH9 and its recombinant proteins is pivotal in advancing our knowledge of the molecular underpinnings of neural development and associated pathologies.
