Gene name
BIRC5
-
简介
The BIRC5 protein has dual roles in cell proliferation and prevention of apoptosis. It is an important CPC component and guides chromosome alignment and segregation during mitosis. It directs CPC movement, contributes to central spindle organization, and recruits CPC to centromeres. BIRC5 Protein, Human (His-SUMO) is the recombinant human-derived BIRC5 protein, expressed by E. coli , with labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
BIRC5, also known as Survivin, is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family, playing a crucial role in regulating apoptosis and cell division. Its overexpression is frequently observed in various cancers, making it a significant target for therapeutic intervention. Research has highlighted BIRC5's dual function in inhibiting apoptosis and promoting cell proliferation, contributing to tumorigenesis and resistance to chemotherapy. The study of recombinant BIRC5 protein aims to elucidate its biological functions and mechanisms of action, providing insights into its role in cancer progression. By producing recombinant BIRC5, researchers can investigate its interactions with other cellular proteins, understand its structure-function relationship, and explore potential inhibitors that could disrupt its activity. Furthermore, recombinant BIRC5 can serve as a valuable tool in the development of targeted therapies, potentially leading to more effective treatment strategies for cancer patients. Understanding how to modulate BIRC5's activity could result in improved outcomes by sensitizing tumors to existing therapies and reducing resistance mechanisms. Thus, the exploration of BIRC5 recombinant protein represents a promising avenue in cancer research, with the potential to translate findings into clinical applications.
